I’ll also explain how the videos on those channels are made so you can start making them yourself. I hope you’re not too lazy to Read the article to the end, because one these YouTube channels is earning over $45,000 a month being lazy!
You might notice the topics of the videos are coming from conversations I have with viewers in the comments section, or from polls in the Facebook. So be sure to comment on the video and participate in the polls to tell me what kind of content you’d like to see. Without wasting any more time, let’s get started. YouTube channel ideas
A.S.M.R
The first niche for the lazy is the ASMR no-talking niche. A.S.M.R. is quite popular, but there are so many different types of A.S.M.R.. So, you’ve got people doing random things without showing their faces and filming a specific thing that makes a specific noise. So you may be familiar with A.S.M.R. from people talking into microphones and doing other things, but this is not required. You can see and do anything that makes a satisfying sound.
You can do this with so many things; you don’t even have to show your face; you can order a microphone and start making weird noises on it with your fingers or pretty much anything. Stacy Aster is an example of a channel in this niche. This channel has nearly 1 million subscribers, and when you watch their videos, you will notice that no one is speaking into a microphone or revealing their face; all you can see is how the soothing voices are produced. This channel’s most popular video has 14 million views.
As you can see, people enjoy listening to the sounds produced. According to the social blade statistics, this channel receives over 3 million views in a single month, allowing them to earn between 755 and 12,100 dollars in ad revenue. But as we know, Social Blade uses a CPM range of 25 cents to $4 for its estimates. Those estimates are not accurate for the majority of channels, let alone faceless cash cow YouTube channels. I estimate the A.S.M.R. niche to have a CPM range of $2 to $6 on average.
So that means that Stacy Aster could be earning between $6000 and $18,000 per month before YouTube takes its 45% cut. So, if you want to make videos in this niche, you have to buy a good microphone and think of ways to make sounds that people will enjoy listening to. There is no recording of voice-overs or searching for videos to edit with. If you want to get into this niche, you can check out that channel.
Book Summary
The book summary niche is another channel idea that’s great for lazy people. Book summary is a niche in which one is expected to write a summary of a specific book so that others can understand what that book is about. This is an excellent niche because you can create an infinite number of videos. Many books are available, and new books are being published daily, so you’ll never be bored.
You don’t have to read the book in this niche, but you must create a summary. You can do it yourself or search for summaries on Google. Please don’t use the summaries you find on Google; read them and rewrite them in your own words. When you look at the channels posting videos in this niche, you will notice that they are mostly just doing a summary of a book and then explaining what is happening in the book using animation or whiteboard videos.
With 190,000 subscribers, one example channel in this niche is Chronicle Living. The most popular video on this channel, titled ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad Summary,’ has received over 7 million views. I happen to know from channels I run that this particular book summary has a CPM of $16. I can state with total confidence that Chronicle Living earned $112,000 on that one video before YouTube took its 45% share. So, what are your options if you want to make videos in this niche? You can use a program called Renderforest.
This software can be used to create library animations, normal animations, and pretty much anything else you need. Use my link in the description to try Renderforest for yourself for absolutely free. Before we get too far into it, I’m not sure if it’s for you, but if you know someone who’s interested in growing their channel and dominating YouTube, then have them subscribe to this channel for more content like this.
Just imagine if you had 10,000 dollars more in your bank account every month. Use my link in the description if you’d like to try an absolutely FREE YouTube course that can grow your channel from zero to 10,000 dollars in profit on YouTube without showing your own face, using your own voice, or making videos at all.
Drawing channel
One of the niches lazy people love is the drawing niche. This niche is where you teach people how to draw. Don’t worry if you don’t have any drawing ideas. You don’t even need to draw because there are software programs that will do it for you.
A popular channel in this niche is ‘Learn Step by Step,’ which has nearly 700,000 subscribers. When you browse their channel, you’ll see videos like ‘how to draw a house,’ ‘how to draw ice cream kawaii,’ ‘how to draw a cute Bunny,’ and so on.
Most of their videos have millions of views, indicating that many people enjoy watching these types of videos. The video with the most views is titled ‘How to Draw a house easy step by step.’ In just one year, this video has received over 21 million views.
When you click on this video, you will notice that it does not appear real because it was created using software. When you watch the video, you will notice that it is a step-by-step demonstration of how to draw a house. People watch these videos because they want to draw a house or because their children, who are as young as ten years old and as old as 12 or 13 years old, are interested in this type of content.
If you’re gearing your channel to help children learn to draw, then you must label your channel as being for children to comply with YouTube’s Coppa Laws. This will negatively impact your CPM. If you want to have a higher CPM, you’ll have to find some way to market your drawing channel to adults. So, given the high number of views, how much does this channel earn?
Let’s assume this channel isn’t effected by YouTube’s Coppa laws. According to the social blade statistics, this channel receives over 3.6 million views per month, generating between 900 and 14,400 dollars per month. My research suggests that channels in the drawing niche earn between $2.50 and $5 per 1000 monetized playbacks. That suggests that Learn Step by Step would be earning $9000 to $18,000 per month if it weren’t subject to Coppa.
What can you do if you want to start a channel like this and make videos like this? You can go to Google and search for automatic drawing software. There are numerous software programs available to assist you with this.
If you do not want to use the software, try my link in the description (Instagram) to search on Upwork.com for freelancers who can create these videos for you. Overall, this niche is simple because you don’t need to do much. You’ll need a drawing program or a freelancer to do it for you.
Walking videos
The Walking niche is the next type of channel on our list. This is insane because it requires no effort other than walking. You make money while walking around your favorite cities and locations, so if you’re lazy, you’ll have to put in a little extra effort and try walking.
This channel is a lazy people’s channel because you will not need to do voice-overs or editing; all you will need to do is hold a camera and walk around. This channel type will not work for everyone; it mostly depends on your location. So, if you’re planning a trip to a city with beautiful scenery, put this on your bucket list.
Nomadic Ambience, a channel with 1 million subscribers, is an example of this niche. This channel publishes videos such as “Walking in the Rain in Manhattan NYC” and “Walking in the Rain in Tokyo.” The majority of the videos on this channel receive a lot of views. The video with the most views, ‘Walking in the rain in Manhattan NYC,’ has received over 8 million views.
These two videos have received a lot of views because they are walking around famous cities that people would like to see how they look like. So the most important aspect of this niche is the location you are walking through and what you are filming. According to the social blade statistics, this channel has received over 3.4 million views in the last month, generating between 887 and 14,200 dollars.
Walking Tours in 4k is another small channel in this niche with 8,000 subscribers. I want to show you this channel so you can see that it’s not just big channels like Nomadic Ambience that get a lot of views. This channel has a video called ‘Positano Italy walking tour.’
This video, which is an hour-long, has nearly 700,000 views. As you can see, it’s on a small channel. So the number of subscribers is unimportant; what matters is the location where you are walking.
Compilation channel
This category also includes compilation channels. If you’re unfamiliar with compilation channels, this is where you look for many related videos to compile into one longer, interesting video. For example, if you enjoy a relationships and gossip, you can create a compilation of random videos of interesting parts of relationship videos on Tiktok and upload them to YouTube.
You can also choose to upload sports clips, such as random clips of the most interesting NBA dunks. Life Awesome is an example channel in this niche. This channel mostly uploads compilations of try not to laugh videos. It has 642,000 subscribers and has received approximately 14 million views in the last 30 days.
Their most popular video was posted a year ago and has received over 56 million views. When you look at that video, no voice-over or anyone is showing their face on the camera; instead, the video consists of random funny clips of people doing things that can make you laugh. This channel generates anywhere from 3700 to 59,000 dollars per month. Imagine earning that much money simply by watching random internet videos.
Compilation videos are going to have a CPM in line with what they are a compilation of. So a compilation of relationship videos will have a different CPM from a compilation of prank videos. If you want to start a compilation channel, you must pick a niche and then search for random videos related to your niche. You can find those videos on Twitch, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, and video games you enjoy.
Gaming channel
Another type of channel on this list is a gaming channel. Do you want to make money on YouTube but don’t want to put in the effort of writing scripts, recording videos, and even doing voice-overs? The gaming niche is ideal for you. All you have to do is find a game you enjoy playing and start screen recording it so you can upload it to YouTube.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t have a gaming rig; you can still do this from your phone. There are YouTubers who play games on their phones and get a lot of views just because people enjoy watching their gameplay. All you have to do is find a game in which you excel. Panda is an example channel in this niche. This channel has 12 million subscribers, and all he does is play his favorite games on his phone, resulting in millions of views for his videos.
His most popular video has received over 20 million views. I’m sure you’re wondering how much money he makes just from playing video games. According to social blade statistics, this channel received over 31 million views in the last 30 days, allowing him to earn anywhere between 7,800 dollars and 124,000 dollars per month solely from ad revenue. We know Social Blade’s estimate on the gaming niche is wrong though.
Gaming has terrible CPMs. CPM estimates in the gaming niche are $1.50 per 1000 monetized playbacks. That means that Panda is earning $46,500 per month before YouTube takes their 45% cut. Imagine earning over $46,000 from gaming alone; it’s insane, right? So, how do you go about creating a channel like this?
As I previously stated, the strategy is simple: find games you excel at, screen record them while playing, and then upload them. People will enjoy watching your videos if they are good, and you will receive a lot of views if they are.
Reddit channel
A Reddit channel is the laziest example of a YouTube channel idea for lazy people we could think of. A Reddit channel is similar to a compilation channel in that you usually focus on a group of posts in a specific category, but you don’t have to do it that way all the time. You can look at a few different channels for inspiration, one of which is EmKay. There are over 3 million subscribers to this channel.

When you watch their videos, you’ll notice that they use a variety of Subreddits. They will usually have some topic or compilation of the best post of the week or best post of the month for a specific Subreddit that is quite popular or has many submissions. Then they’ll add some witty commentary over them, but you won’t see the person speaking on camera.

They also don’t do much fancy editing because most of their videos contain memes, pictures from Reddit, and comments from Reddit. So it’s fairly simple, and it’s something you could do. You can do one per week and get a few hundred thousand views, which will help you earn. According to the social blade statistics, this channel earns much money. It has received over 40 million views in the last 30 days. That means people enjoy watching these types of videos.
The 40 million views have helped the channel earn between 10,000 and 160,000 dollars per month. That’s a lot of money just from advertising. Can you imagine earning over 100,000 dollars simply by posting funny Reddit content? That is truly amazing. If you want to make videos like this, you can go to ‘ask Reddit,’ ‘ask me anything,’ ‘me in real life,’ or even all sorts of Reddit posts and figure out a niche where you can differentiate yourself from EmKay and create a nice channel from that.
